Parking: Parking in lot. Please be GREEN and carpool.

Please parking in the Student Memorial Center (SMC) parking lot located behind the Lombardo Welcome Center and down a short walking path.  The SMC parking lot is located at 150 Shenks Ln, Millersville PA 17551. Using this address in a GPS will take guests to Shenks Ln along the south side of the SMC building.  The SMC parking lot is at the end of the SMC building on the left.  The Lombardo Welcome Center is a short uphill walk from the northeast end of the parking lot.

Millersville University is stepping into a more sustainable future with the opening of the zero energy Lombardo Welcome Center. “The Lombardo Welcome Center serves as the flagship building for sustainability on campus and will provide a unique experience for all who visit,” says MU sustainability manager Chris Steuer. “The University is committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2040. This building encapsulates those aspirations in form and in function.” The program will provide an overview of the design, construction, purpose, use, and performance of the Lombardo Welcome Center and tie this in to the University’s broader energy management goals and activities. Following the presentation, there will be a tour of the Lombardo Welcome Center .

Speaker Bio:

Mr. Chris Steuer is the Sustainability Manager for Millersville University where he coordinates and advances Millersville’s sustainability initiatives and programs, including developing and implementing the University’s Climate Action Plan and incorporating sustainable management principles into University activities and operations. Previously, Mr. Steuer was a Senior Sustainability Management Consultant for ICF, wherein he helped developed sustainability programs for various public and private sector clients, including the National Park Service, Environmental Protection Agency, and U.S. House of Representatives.
