Program:
Please join the members of IFMA Central PA, as well as members from other PA IFMA chapters, and IFMA Director of Government Affairs, Jeff Johnson, for the 4th Annual Day on the Hill. Learn how IFMA is impacting legislation that affects the practice of facility management, not only in DC, but internationally. We’ll learn about pending legislation in Pennsylvania that impacts the practice of facility management. We’ve been following legislation that deals with energy conservation and high performance buildings. In late 2015, Senate Resolution 215 was passed directing the Joint State Government Commission to complete a comprehensive review and study of the best practices used by private businesses and other public entities in the leasing, acquisition and management of office, warehouse and other types of space and to issue a report. We’re going to talk about how IFMA can help with this review and are currently lining up a speaker on the topic. In parallel with IFMA’s success with the Federal Buildings Personnel Training Act, we’d like to start building awareness in Harrisburg about the importance of facility management training, and we hope to line up speakers to start this conversation as well.
