Community Outreach Event – Volunteers needed for spring landscaping cleanup at Children’s Home Of York

What is the Children’s Home of York?

Today there are over 170,000 children under care of the state of Pennsylvania and that number is growing.  Children’s Home of York is assisting over 400 of those children in need. During these traumatic times, we provide children and youth with a stable, secure and supportive environment.

Saturday, April 29th from 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM, or however much time you can give.  Don’t be afraid to come late or leave early as needed for your schedule.  All help is appreciated!

What needs to be done?

Raking, pruning, mulching and other landscaping needs.

Wear old clothing that you can get dirty!

If we have enough volunteers, we can split into two groups and also help out at their George Street facility!

What should I bring?

If you have the items below, please consider bringing them to help with the tasks.

  • Work gloves
  • Shovels
  • Rakes
  • Pruning shears
  • Wheelbarrows
  • A bottle of water – you may get thirsty!

Please direct questions to Jim Gerlach by email at or by phone at 717-831-7366.
