The Salvation Army is one of the most trusted and brand recognized non-profits in the country.  Yet, very few people really know what exactly The Salvation Army does in their community.  Join us for lunch to find out about what The Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region is doing in our local community for 22,000 people.  You'll also hear about The Salvation Army's future plans and opportunities within a newly constructed 39,000 square foot, multi-use Service & Worship Center (completion September 2019) at 29th Street & Rudy Road, Harrisburg, to transform lives and build legacies.  We're confident that you will leave this luncheon saying, "I had no idea The Salvation Army was doing all of that in Harrisburg!"

Speaker Bio:

After graduating from Penn State University with a degree in Marketing, the majority of Kathy’s career experience was in sales and marketing as a Sales Manager with The Phillips Group and National Account Manager for Sharp Electronics Corporation.   In August 2000, Kathy’s life and career plans abruptly changed direction.   Within a 10-day time period, Kathy was diagnosed with a previously undetected congenital heart defect which would require open heart surgery; she and her husband adopted their daughter, Elizabeth; and then baby Elizabeth was diagnosed with the same heart condition as Kathy – all within ten days.

These major life changes led to Kathy’s renewed perspectives on life, priorities and to her second career within the non-profit community.   Kathy has served as Regional Executive Director of a statewide nonprofit organization for children and as Director of Development with a faith-based social service agency.   For the past eight years, Kathy has served as Director of Resource Development for The Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region. At The Salvation Army, Kathy is responsible for developing community partnerships and resources to support a $3 million operating budget and $12 million capital campaign to provide Salvation Army programs and services that benefit 20,000 people in Dauphin, Perry and Eastern Cumberland Counties annually.

Kathy and her husband, Jon, live in Hampden Township with their daughters, Elizabeth and Ashlyn.
