1st Award: The Associate Member of the Year Award (Vote for one)

This award is the highest form of Associate recognition given to the member who has contributed his or her time to the benefit of our chapter. This person is not only chosen for the time involved in volunteering for our chapter, but most importantly the integrity of their participation. This recipient is the definition of what an associate member should be to the rest of our chapter. The nominee must hold an Associate membership in good standing for at least this past year.

Senior Account Executive
C J Maintenance

Kristan has served our chapter in Publicity, Membership Embassador, Executive Board, VP and President, Past President, Chair of the Sustainability Committee, and now running again as Secretary! She has attended WWP and Facilty Fusion.
She is a regular at chapter meetings offering a welcome to all memeber new and old.
Kristan works hard to make our chapter the best we can be!

Service Business Development Manager
McClure Company

Nomination #1

Has put a lot of work into the golf tournament for this year to revamp and make better!

Nomination #2

For his work on new ideas on golf tournament.

Nomination #3

I have only known John for a short amount of time. However, there is nobody who I believe came right to the table with more excitement and new ideas for the Scholarship Golf Tournament than he did. John is volunteering an enormous amount of time creating an entirely new tournament for our members which will be able to grow sponsorship as well as the Chapter's ability to provide a scholarship to a deserving FM student. I look forward to the end result, and sincerely hope that the Chapter members recognize John for all of his efforts to organize these years event.

Nomination #4

John has put significant effort in to completely reinvigorate the Chapter's Scholarship Golf Outing and basically take it up several notches beyond where it was in the past. His experience and connections have really created the opportunity for the Chapter to greatly enrich its contribution to a vitally important part of its mission - the encouragement of young people to further their education in the field and thereby create new opportunities for the enhancement of the professionalism of Facility Management.

2nd Award: The Advocate of the Year Award (Vote for One)

This person is not only chosen for the time involved in volunteering for our chapter, but for bringing about positive change for the benefit of our chapter.  This person has had a substantial impact on the chapter, and has initiated or implemented ideas that contributed to the continued growth and overall professionalism of our chapter.  This nominee is chosen for the overall impact to our chapter, and may not necessarily be within the last twelve months.  The nominee must be a member in good standing for at least this past year.

Manager - Operations & Maintenance
PA Turnpike Commission

Nomination #1

I nominate Jim Gerlach for the IFMA Central PA Chapter Advocate of the Year Award. Jim serves as the Chair of the Community Outreach Committee, and over the past year has spearheaded numerous outreach projects at the Harrisburg Boys & Girls Club, Leg Up Farms in York, and the Children’s Home of York. Each of these projects had a profound impact on the people who manage as well as depend on these organizations, and Jim has volunteered countless hours for the Chapter in coordinating these programs. Jim has been able to gain momentum for the Committee, and continues to have an impact on our Chapter by introducing new and innovative ways to advocate for the FM profession through the Community Outreach Committee. He continues to support the IFMA credentials program and was an active supporter of one of his employees obtaining her CFM credential this year. There is no one I believe that is more deserving and continues to contribute to the professionalism of our Chapter more than Jim Gerlach. I kindly ask for your vote of support so he can be recognized as our Advocate of the Year!

Nomination #2

Jim has done a tremendous job with community out reach, and has made a tremendous difference with little budget.

Facilities Project Manager
PHEAA

In my opinion Jolene has stepped up with added responsibilities in the past year. She played a vital role in acquiring a golf chair committee, volunteered to attend Facility Fusion, and was a lead presenter at NFMT.

Facilities Strategic Planning & Program Manager
PA Turnpike Commission

I must respectfully ask the committee's permission to waive the prohibition against nominating an officer of the Chapter in this case. Robert will be leaving the area soon and that means I'll not have the opportunity to nominate him going forward. I believe him to be worthy of this award for the whole body of his contributions to the Chapter over the past several years, not the least of which was the successful implementation of the Chapter's new website which is essentially a quantum leap ahead for the Chapter. In addition to that he had represented the Chapter very well regionally and even nationally with IFMA as a subject matter expert in the field. He has worked very hard to facilitate the recognition of others in the Chapter, but has never been recognized himself for all the effort he has put in. I am a fairly active participant in the Chapter and I am not aware of another single individual who has contributed more to the Chapter than Robert.  I urge the Committee to waive the officer prohibition in this one case, so that we can recognize Robert before the opportunity passes.

3rd Award: The Facility Manager of the year award (Vote for one)

This award stands for everything that our organization was founded upon. This is the most prestigious award. This award goes to a facility manager who has continually exceeded the normal scope of his or her job responsibilities as a facility manager. This person continually redefines the parameters of his or her position. This person has had a substantial impact on the success of our organization simply by being apart of our membership. The recipient demonstrates innovation and creativity and the ability to plan for the future of their company. This person pushes the envelope of our definition of a facility manager. This person should be recognized by our membership to enhance his or her own professional standing and raise awareness of our organization. This nominee is chosen for the overall impact to their company and may not necessarily be within the last twelve months. The nominee must be a facility manager and a member in good standing for at least this past year.

Facility Manager
TE Connectivity

Michele is a key contributor to the success of the Facilities Management organization at TE Connectivity. With a very broad portfolio, ranging from commercial office to manufacturing, she consistently works to satisfy internal customers while delivering on company sustainability and ROI objectives. She is the consummate professional in the field, while also actively participating in Chapter activities.

Facilities Strategic Planning & Program Manager
PA Turnpike Commission

Robert has many duties as a FM for the PA Turnpike. He Formulates a 30M per year Capital plan and provides regular updates to staff on spending trends and needs. Develops and tracks progress related to the Department Business plan and Strategic plan and provides updates to staff at regular staff meetings. Creates presentations as needed and does public speaking as needed. Creates networks and activities in enterprise software system as related to project budgets and tracking/financial needs. Provides tablet and specialized work order management training to field staff. Developed and tracks project tracking report used by Director for project management.  Provides support for staff seeking to advance their careers by training and education (IFMA and other associations).  Often works outside of his job description to help achieve departmental goals. Project management as needed - In addition to his tireless work in our chapter as VP, President, Past President, Webmaster. He spearheaded the website redesign and currently manages all information. Robert is a great assesst to his employer and our community!

Facilities Security Supervisor
PA Turnpike Commission

I nominate Amber Gratkowski, CFM for the IFMA Central PA Facility Manager of the Year Award. Amber joined the PA Turnpike Commission (PTC) Facilities and Energy Management Department (FEMO) about 1 ½ years ago as our Facility Security Supervisor. Since that time, Amber has been instrumental in creating standard operating procedures, updating policies, and working with our internal and external customers to improve security access at the PTC. From managing our key inventory to our security access card system, Amber has welcomed any challenge and has done so with the utmost professionalism and integrity. Many of the functional areas under her supervision are key objectives and tactical initiatives in the FEMO Business Plan and PTC Strategic Plan. In addition to learning a new job and a new Department at the PTC, Amber volunteered to take on additional duties outside of her position for a critical project which had to be completed by April 2017. With the recent retirement of our Facilities Planner in December 2016, Amber took over the management of the furniture procurement and installation for a $3M project. Lastly, over the past year Amber has spent months and countless hours of preparation and studying for the Certified Facility Manager (CFM) exam. Amber has a true passion for FM, and continues to identify new and innovative ways to do business better at the PTC. She achieved her goal of passing the 180 question exam in April, and is the Chapter’s newest CFM!! There is no one I believe that is more deserving and continues to contribute to the professionalism of our Chapter as a shining star for up and coming Facility Manager’s more than Amber Gratkowski. I kindly ask for your vote of support so she can be recognized as our Facility Manager of the Year!

Facility Manager
PSECU

Pete is hard worker who works hard for the chapter and manages a large facility well.
